Zhang Qiling is an extremely introverted person who rarely expresses himself either visually or through speech. His expression is generally settled in a blank resting face that has earned him the nickname of Poker-face, and his preference to use minimal words to communicate, or not at all at times, has earned him the other nickname of Mute Zhang.
This all stems from an isolated childhood and abuse from the family clan who only used him all through childhood. He never formed any emotional connections with anybody growing up, and as a result relies only upon himself all through adulthood. His faith in humanity as a whole comes more from a familial mission towards them rather than a personal faith in humans specifically. People has only disappointed him in the past, so he does not believe people are usually more than companions at most, not anyone true he can share feelings or sorrows with.
This changed upon meeting Wu Xie and Pangzi as they have proven to be reliable over and over again, and have managed to establish a connection with him that became his stepping stone with him humanizing his interactions.
Qiling has a simple personality with very basic needs. He is capable of extreme focus and talent, but doesn't express much joy or sorrow on his own. He is capable of a stillness where other people would have a fidget or find hobbies, he could sit the day away doing absolutely nothing.
